In 1986, Jim Blankenship and family started Amtek Tool & Supply, Inc.  Setting up shop in his home basement in Troy, Michigan, Jim had his faithful wife, 4 rambunctious children and a handful of dedicated employees.

The company grew as customers discovered Amtek's ability to "pull a rabbit out of a hat" and track down special tooling and customized products while maintaining competitive prices.  Word of Amtek’s great service spread and customers now include education, aerospace, avionic repair, heavy equipment manufacturing, institutional MRO, optical and medical machine manufacturing, automotive, military, as well as mom & pop machine and fabrication shops.

Today, Amtek is headquartered in the Detroit suburb of Madison Heights, Michigan and has customers in all 50 states and across the globe.  Even more than 20 years later, the original staff is still employed.  Amtek has grown since its inception, but has never lost sight of Jim’s unique established vision of going the extra mile to get you the right tool at the right time at the right price.  This mentality spurs today's Amtek Tool & Supply to meet your needs  … we are here to serve you!
